I’m Sara, the heart and eye behind Butterfly Photography. Serving the Adirondacks, Thousand Islands, and beyond, I bring a moody, editorial elegance to every session. I’m not here to follow trends I’m here to tell your story. With classic, artful edits and intentional moments, every image is crafted to feel both cinematic and deeply personal. My work goes beyond posed photos it’s about capturing authentic emotions and weaving them into a narrative that’s uniquely yours. Step into a photography experience that is different refined, soulful, and unforgettable.I grew up between California and Asia, and those experiences shaped the way I see people, emotion, and the beauty in everyday moments. Storytelling has always been a part of who I am. My dad saw that in me long before I ever did he loved watching me document people’s lives, and losing him to cancer four years ago changed the way I hold memories. Now, every photo I take feels like a reminder of how precious time and connection truly are.
I’m a mom to an incredible 8-year-old daughter who is the absolute light of my life. She’s my why, my joy, and the heart behind everything I do. When I’m not behind the camera, you can usually find me loving on my dogs, eating a good salad, or drinking coffee like it’s a personality trait. And if there’s pop music playing? Even better.
I’m someone who goes all-in whether it’s caring for the people I photograph, supporting their story, or simply showing up with my whole heart. I believe in kindness, connection, and creating a space where people feel seen and valued.
At my core, I just love people and I love turning their moments, big or small, into something they can hold onto forever.

Fun fact: If I’m not behind the camera, you can probably find me with a boba in hand or sipping on Dunkin’ coffee like it’s my superpower. 🎀📸

Before I ever picked up a camera, I spent my childhood in front of one! I was actually a child model and actress which means posing, directing, and bringing out your natural confidence is kind of my secret superpower. Whether you’re feeling shy, awkward, or have no idea what to do with your hands… don’t worry. I’ve literally been trained for this since I was a kid. 😄📸

When I’m not photographing love stories, you can usually find me somewhere in the Adirondacks—hiking to a summit with a coffee in hand or kayaking across a quiet lake at sunrise. It’s my happy place, my reset button, and probably where I’ll retire one day with a camera in one hand and a paddle in the other. 🌲🚣♀️✨
